Nuskin and Forever Living
As I mention previously that it was during one of the courses that I discover network marketing company call Forever Living.
I arrange a session with the 2 ladies who presented about this company. Actual content I cannot remember as that was almost a decade ago... Oh... how time flies....
I went to their office along Eu Tong Sen street. The building is a national monument and it was owned by them, not rented I heard. That was impressive I have to say.
Anyway, they introduced their product, did some experiment, and talk about the comp plan. After hearing the comp plan, I think it was alot easier and less complicated then my previous experience.
Previously I had some experience with Nuskin. I was introduced to Nuskin by an ex colleague. At that point I was in the middle of 2 jobs. So I wasn't working. My wedding date was coming up too. I was plump. I was in need of a slimming...... She came to me and introduce me this product called TRA. It wasn't cheap for someone like me. It cost $2000plus. But since I desperately want to slim down, I bought it. It wasn't easy as per day I have to swallow so many pills... (I think over 20 pills!!) plus the hunger and I have to be aware of what I eat and also do portion control.
Of course I succeeded in slimming down with all those portion control, some exercise and swallowing 20+ pills per day. My results were visible so I thought I could use this to attract people so I can talk about this product.
Compare to Forever Living comp plan, Nuskin plan is slightly abit more complicated. They used PVs and some other acronyms which I cannot remember as it as 12 13 years ago when I saw this. But 1 thing I remember distinctly was that there will be demotion if you do not qualify for some criteria (mainly sales target). So end up, you might unknowingly stockup on the products in the end... Not to mention I wasn't properly trained on how to go about doing the business. My friend only quickly go through with me how to invite friends and quickly cut them off saying I was busy and to talk when we meet etc etc... My friend also has a team of people and they rented an office near Nuskin HQ whcih they conducted those RARA events etc. Very positive environment, but i wasn't comfortable. Plus my friend's husband keep harping on sales etc etc... you know, 话不投机半句多 . End up every time I see him, I "siam" (avoid) him because I cannot stand his harping......┬┴┬┴┤ω・) And I guess I am not the stage that I was ready....
Hopefully he didn't get to read this post... (o-_-o)
Needless to say, I fail in my Nuskin venture.
Reasons for failing after my own analysis:
No proper training on how to do the business
Too many products it is confusing especially when people ask me they have certain issues, what should they consume.
Company is quite established in that there are quite a number of people doing this company already.
Upline too pushy thus making me feel abit irritated. (You get what I mean when you meet with pushy sales person when facial package ending soon etc)
Compensation plan abit challenging.
My own guilt complexion when I approach friend like I am trying to earn their money.
Maybe these are just my excuses, or maybe I wasn't ready yet. But this is how I feel.
Compared to Nuskin, Forever Living is alot easier. 1 time lifetime membership so no yearly membership subscription, there is no demotion, no minimum purchase. Commission is base on selling price. In a nutshell, its just like buy low sell high, we earn the difference. Price and commission is transparent.
Takeaway: Be open minded....
