Why now? Why this? Why?

Prior to covid, the market is already in turmoil. Trying the save the market from inflation, there were a slew of market saving methods used, mainly printing money, and printing more money. Every investment guru were trying to guess when will market fall. But market never fall. Instead of falling, because of the slew of economy saving tactics, the stock market keep rising and rising. But we all know its just a matter of time. The market is already over heated.

In the midst of all these, Covid came. Covid crippled the whole world putting the world to a halt. Everybody stayed at home. The roads are so empty. It is the first time everywhere is so quiet..... It was a regret I didn't get a chance to travel to Orchard road during circuit breaker (CB). It would be a once in a lifetime experience experiencing Orchard as a ghost town. 

It was healing to the environment..... but not the economy... The economy practically crippled....

After 2 years of limbo, the market reopens gradually. Then the slew of effects that the leaders were trying to prevent happened...

Inflation flew in, interest rate increase drastically, transportation fare increase, basically everything increase except salary!!! (ლ `Д ́ )ლ

Then came the slew of retrenchment. [ ᕤ ಠ (oo) ಠ ]ᕤ ︵┻━┻

Shoppee, Macdonalds, Facebook, Disney etc are having retrenchment. Even British American Tobacco is laying off people.

With the advent of AI, alot of jobs were said to be replaceable by AI. Jobs we deemed iron bowl are in danger.

Covid also force more people to be more acceptable of online working and online shopping. Zoom became the norm. Purchasing things online became the new normal, not to mention the convenience and the savings from shopping online. 

So why not?
